White Rose Head 2017
Yesterday was a very busy day for the club. We had 9 crews racing across two divisions, and this was the first proper race for our novice crews. After an early start and a two hour journey to York, the Senior women’s 8, two novice women’s 4s and Novice men’s 8 all boated for the first division, all and after a chilly wait at the start line all put down good times. Our Nov Women’s 4’s did incredibly well, placing 3rd and 4th, and our Nov men’s 8 placed 5th in a very competitive category. The senior women’s 8 came 8th. In the second division, the Senior Men’s 8, Senior women’s 4+, Nov women’s 8 and Nov men’s 4s boated, with the nov women coming in 12th, the nov men coming in 3rd and 5th, and the seniors putting in good times to place an impressive 3rd in the Men’s 8 and 2nd in the Women’s 4+.
This term has been a really successful start to our racing season, a lot of lessons learned as well as positives to take forward into BUCS Head and Head of the River next term!
