About us

Formed in 1948, the University of Leicester Boat Club is part of the large society group at the University of Leicester. Based at Leicester Rowing Club, our rowers have access to the highest quality of facilities and equipment.

We accept a large intake of novice members at the start of every academic year and throughout their first year in the club they will transition from learning to row for the first time to racing across the country at some of the biggest races in the World.

Our senior squads, become full members of Leicester Rowing Club, with whom they become integral parts of both clubs. Through our memberships with Leiciester Rowing Club, we receive the highest level of coaching and training programmes. We train and race throughout the year, starting with Nottingham Autumn Head in November through to Henley Royal Regatta and Women's Henley Regatta in June/July.

Both our novice and senior squads have seen great success in recent years, including Top 12 finishes at both BUCS head and BUCS regatta, as well as qualifying for both Henley Royal Regatta and Henley Women's Regatta in 2022.
